My husband was heading off to the movies so it was just going to be me and the girls for the night. He looked at me dubiously as I said we would go out for dinner by ourselves. I was doubting myself a little but I had a plan......
What better than to head to somewhere where you didn't have to wait around for the food, was fun, friendly service and the kids could choose something healthy that they would like?
So off we headed down Beaufort St in Mt Lawley to YUZU Kaiten Sushi.
It's a little hidden behind the Dome cafe but with a large carpark right out the front it it, on the corner of Walcott St opposite the Astor Theatre.
We headed there around 5.30pm and there weren't many people inside at that time. It's quite small so I imagine later it would be busier. (seats around 20) There are the usual barstool seats around the sushi train but on one side there are 2 booths which is where we sat. There is also 1 highchair if needed but C just sat on the chair next to me.
The staff are very friendly and bought out plastic bowls, cups and forks for the girls to use though they were to busy eyeing off what they wanted on the sushi train to notice.
As you can see below the prices go by the colour of the plates like at most sushi train restaurants. The big hits on our table where the small avocado rolls, the prawn dumplings and the chicken and avocado rolls. We also got the tuna one which I liked and one that had corn kernals on top but only the corn was eaten by the girls on those ones so mummy got plain rice sushi.
The chef must've seen the girls as about 15 minutes in we started seeing jelly in plastic cups with a side of jelly beans going around which they pointed out everytime it came past our table but I decided to use a voucher from our Entertainment Book and we headed across to Gelare (next to the Astor) and got buy one waffle get one free which the girls were very happy to end the evening with, finger lickin' good as you can see below!
After all the fun of the evening we still managed to get home before 7pm so the girls were in bed by their usual time.
Definitely recommend YUZU for a fuss free dinner out.
