I've been loving the super deals on the likes of Scoopon, Spreets and for this one I used Jump On It, makes us try things we would never be able to afford before or step out of our comfort zone so I thought we would give the deal for Pizza on High a go.
Fremantle is a bit of a trek for those of us north east of the river but we used the opportunity to have a play on the foreshore of the river at East Fremantle before heading in for an early dinner.
Pizza on High is located near the end of High St close to the Roundhouse right next door to the Orient Hotel. They are open for lunch weekdays and dinner from Wednesday through to Saturday nights.
It was a Saturday night when we headed in and were the only ones there. It's quite a small room with also a few tables out the front. The decor probably hasn't changed in 20 odd years.
It is definitely not a kid friendly restuarant. There are no highchairs and no room for a pram. Saturday night is also probably not the best night to go as a few drunk guys walked in to order half way through our meal and were tripping over the chairs then sat outside yelling very loudly.
Don't expect anything fancy, things are cut up chunky, the salad is probably whatever they picked up at the markets that morning and the lasagne the mumma probably makes in big batches every night and has used the same recipe her whole life.
The girls tried everything and finished what was on their plates but didn't ask for more.
I would recommend take away. You could grab a pizza or 2 and walk the 5 minutes to the park on the Esplanade where the kids could at least run around and you might enjoy it more.
Last note there is no eftpos available so take cash.
Its a great drop in for the students at Notre Dame University but I wouldn't recommend for families.
